Feb. 28th, 2016 10:35 amTony had planned to run for a very, very long time. After his parents had died and he was no longer under their protection to skip annual screenings, he had started to make plans to leave. The trouble was, having a silver spoon in your mouth at all times made the thought of leave the known world pretty awful and Tony, a creature of comfort by then, did not want to leave his home and his riches and his toys.
Uncle Obi shared his secret and together they kept the Stark Empire afloat. Tony was rich enough to pay off the yearly census. For awhile at least.
But that was before the Chitauri came and did what no one in the world thought was even possible in the days before they attempted to take over. They released bombs to kill Guides, specifically. Just like that, millions of Guides around the world perished.
If it hadn't been for the Iron Man armor, he would have died as well.
He'd only just met Steve Rogers, one of his father's friends during World War II, for mere moments before the hellicarier went to hell. He'd seen the way the Captain had looked at him, had smelled the air... It would have been impossible for a Sentinel to have known what he was outside of heat, but Steve was not just a Sentinel. And Tony knew he was in trouble even while he fought alongside the Captain.
Was it any wonder that Tony Stark was mysteriously gone before Loki was even captured or taken back to Asgard?

Date: 2016-02-29 01:30 pm (UTC)He looked incredibly pleased at himself with that little click and the subtle shift in the pieces of the suit. Much better. It would save him the stupid amount of time of literally peeling every piece of the armor off of Tony.
Steve sighed, "It doesn't work, not really. It calms things down, sure, but it's not the same. It turns into an addiction, into a drug, you just want to be around them more and more. I can't work like that."
He yanked the armor of the man's legs first and it came off in full fledged pieces that he chucked in the same box. Perfect.
"Besides, it only delays the inevitable. It doesn't change me needing a Guide. He just died before we could bond." See Tony, now you made him unhappy. Everyone he ever cared about was dead. Was it any wonder he was so desperate for a Guide?
He went for the chest piece next and snarled when it cracked him in the head. He shook his head to clear it and grabbed it hard enough to dent the metal. The wall dented too, when it bounced off it and into the box.
"Are you trying to make me mad?" he demanded. His blue eyes were sharp and considering, "Or is that how you like it?"

Date: 2016-02-29 01:39 pm (UTC)Tony did his best to get away, which ended up not very good at all. He curled his arms up over his face to protect himself, the metal no longer hinged together so he could finally move again. It certainly wasn't easy, of course. The pieces were still extremely heavy and slid off of him like cracked ice floating on water.
"I'm sorry you lost someone," Tony said with a desperation. "Lots of people died. It was war. I just need you to stop and think about what you're doing--"
So begging and trying to reason with Steve wasn't helping anything here! Tony rolled his hips back and kicked out to get the blond away from him. If they succeeded, he roll onto the floor and try to dash away to the door.
Yes. He knew it was locked. But maybe he could get it to open anyway?
"I like my bonding done consensually!"

Date: 2016-02-29 02:06 pm (UTC)Steve was mostly discarding pieces as he reached for Tony. This was so much easier than forcing it off of him. The added challenge of the man trying to get away satisfied the Sentinel in him.
While he appreciated the platitudes, he didn't know that Tony actually meant it. He would say anything to keep Steve from forcibly bonding him. Unfortunately for Tony, the rest of the world was busy and SHIELD was turning a blind eye to this room.
He was thinking about what he was doing. He was claiming himself a Guide before there weren't any left. No one would challenge him for Tony. No one. He hunted him down fair square. Having such a spirited Guide to have fun with would be wonderful.
He grunted with the kick, surprised that it had enough force to unbalance him, and eyed Tony scrabbling at the door. It wasn't going to open.
"This is my guest bedroom," he said conversationally as he approached Tony. He looked like a predator stalking its prey when they know they've won. Toying with him. Relishing in the end of the hunt. "It's attached to my quarters at SHIELD. The door to the hallway is sealed like this too and the windows are barred. Even if you got out of here, there's nowhere to go."
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 02:44 pm (UTC)"What sort of guests do you have Rogers?" The guest room was filled with the strangest paraphernalia. This was definitely not your every day soldier barracks unless the military was a whole lot more kinky than Rhodey ever let on.
Rhodey.
If he could out of here, he could get word to his friend-- but that wouldn't work. He was a Sentinel too. And unbonded. If things were as bad as they seemed to be, Tony wouldn't be safe around any Sentinel.
Maybe he could get to Banner. But where was he? Back at the Tower? Did he bug out too?
Tony kept trying the door until he felt Steve stop. He was close. Too close. He pressed his body as far away as possible.
"Tell me what the safe word is." Maybe if he screamed it enough, the Sentinel would stop?

Date: 2016-02-29 03:22 pm (UTC)"Guides that SHIELD found that were willing to have less than conventional sessions," Steve waved a hand nonchalantly. It wasn't easy either and none of them were compatible enough to stay. It was fun and it helped a little, but it wasn't the same. It was never the same.
Steve didn't stop until he could put his hands on the door on either side of Tony's head and loom over him. The Guide was just short enough for that to be a possibility. The Sentinel in him loved it.
"Safe word?" he looked genuinely confused at the phrase. It was safe to say that it didn't exist and he didn't plan on using one.

Date: 2016-02-29 03:45 pm (UTC)"You own a government sanctioned sex dungeon and you don't have safe words." Maybe he should have been more focused on dealing damage to Steve's genitals but he found the entire thing to be almost too funny.
He might even have laughed until Steve pressed his hands over his head. Tony immediately turned to duck out from under one arm.
There was no way in hell that he was going to be caught up against his only escape.

Date: 2016-02-29 03:58 pm (UTC)"No, I don't," he shook his head and he smiled. Tony probably wouldn't like the look of it. Steve might not know the exact phrase but he could get the gist of it.
Steve grabbed him, reflexes stupidly fast and shoved him back up against the door. Tony wasn't going anywhere. He was Steve's plaything now. His nostrils flared, smelling the man and his fear. Tony could deny it but it was there.
"The problem with the serum is that sometimes? I need more than people think they can stand. More than they want to give," he explained and he followed it with a sigh. It was kind of disappointing. How was he supposed to feel good if someone tapped out before he was done?
"Having my own Guide fixes that problem."
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 04:07 pm (UTC)The force of it took his breath away. Tony couldn't manage to say a word about his fear, not that he would deny it, but because he wasn't exactly the strongest man alive and he felt dizzy, like the air had been knocked out of his lungs.
Feeling Steve's breath against his ear was actually fairly helpful as he attempted to get back to his senses. "What makes you think I'll be able to give you want you want?"
Bonding wasn't mind control for a Guide. It did tend to make them more submissive, though... But that wasn't biological as much as something that came from sharing in the emotions of their Sentinel.
"You're not going to like what happens when you bond with someone that hates your fucking guts!"
Sucking in a breath, Tony tried to bring a knee up to catch Steve in the groin.
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 05:00 pm (UTC)He shrugged, "I honestly don't know, but I'm going to take what I can. I don't have enough options anymore to be picky about it. We all have to make sacrifices. I think you'll do nicely though. I don't think we would be compatible otherwise."
He canted his head, considering Tony for a moment and asked, "What makes you so sure you don't?"
His hips twisted, not quite fast enough, but the uniform took the brunt of it anyway. Cups weren't magic but it lessened the blow. Steve was almost glad he hadn't changed out of his uniform yet. That would have definitely hurt otherwise.
Regardless, he still snarled and he shoved Tony harder against the wall. He said, flatly, "The alternative is worse."
Then he grabbed Tony's shirt and hauled him toward the chair. He grunted, because okay, certain things did smart a little more than he originally thought but it would fade. "Why won't you just let me have you? It's only a little pain. Is that so terrible?"
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 05:27 pm (UTC)"The alternative is better for me," Tony spat, just before he was shoved back into the chair. The whole heavy piece of furniture rocked back with his sudden weight and the Guide was almost positive that he would go toppling out of it and break his neck. He didn't really want to die. He wasn't to the point yet when he was sure that it would be better than bonding.
Were all Sentinels like this? Steve seemed like an OK guy when they first met. Was this what the Guide shortage was doing to people...?
Well. No. Sentinels weren't all kinky at heart. Probably.
"Why won't I let you...? Are you kidding me?! I don't want you. I might have had an experimental period in college, who doesnt, but you are completely not my type."
Why couldn't he get through to this idiot?
"Take a step back, Captain. Think it through. Don't you want someone that wants you back?"

Date: 2016-02-29 05:37 pm (UTC)Steve wasn't going to let it tip over and hurt Tony, not after they've come this far. He did however immediately clamp the man's hands in the restraints. There, now he would have some room to work.
"Well lucky for me, it doesn't matter," Steve said, turning toward the pieces of the suit. He started picking it up and chucking it into the box. What a mess.
"I did. He died," he snapped and once the big pieces were in the box he opened the closet on the far wall. Tony wouldn't be able to see the code he typed in but this probably wasn't a closet he wanted in anyway.
Well, unless he came around and was thinking of ideas for them. Steve, however, was only after the broom and dustpan. He didn't want either of them to walking on anything unpleasant.
"So now, in light of recent events, I'm settling on the next best thing. You."
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 06:40 pm (UTC)Tony couldn't hide his cheek, even when afraid. Even when threatened. "First of all, I'm the best thing. Period. Just maybe not for you. Or for this."
He tugged at the leather cuffs and stretched out his fingers and tried to keep himself calm. It was not working, especially when he caught a glimpse of things his brain immediately supplied the use for in that closet.
"You know just because we're compatible doesn't mean that I'm the only one for you." He tried to hop backwards in the chair but he was no Black Widow. "I really hate pain!"
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 07:06 pm (UTC)In Tony's defense, the chair was meant to be too heavy to just slide. It kept him from having to bolt it to the floor. It was easy for Steve to move and it didn't matter if someone was in it or not. He swept up the remainder of the suit quickly and efficiently. He scanned his hand, his retina and typed a code in the door out to the rest of his quarters, blocking the keypad from Tony. Steve slid the box out metal and parts out of the room to deal with later.
"I Hunted you and caught you," he said as he shut the door, like that was the end of the discussion and for him, it was. There didn't have to be anything fancy to it. Tony smelled wonderful and fantastic. It meant compatibility and with the world like it was... "You might be the only one now."
The door hissed as it resealed itself.

Date: 2016-02-29 07:32 pm (UTC)Big deal.
"I wouldn't be the only one left-- Did you ever think of mail order? Get a cute Japanese Guide? You're so wholesome looking that you probably are into Asians."
It was easier to talk to Steve when Steve wasn't actively touching or nearly touching him.
"Hey. Dude if you're sleepy, don't let me keep you up. I'll be right here. Probably escaping. I'm only telling you because you know I'd do that anyway. But seriously. I'll stay here. You go in there. You earned a rest."
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 07:45 pm (UTC)"We'll both rest when I'm finished with you," he said, turning to examine the bed. Comfortable but it wasn't a nest. Guides liked nests right? Lots of fluff and blankets? He opened the trunk at the foot of the bed and was pleased to find it stocked with nest supplies. The best thing about this century was how easy it was to prepare for this sort of thing.
Tony liked red, he knew. Cars, the suit. He dragged the comforter down to expose the sheets and was happy to find they were exactly that color. He suspected the agent that fitted the room did it so blood wouldn't show up as easily. Worked for him.
Steve started dumping out packages and he wasn't a Guide, so he didn't know exactly what they wanted for a nest. He did do research on the plane to Rio. 'Surprise your Guide with a nest!' 'Fabulous nests built by Sentinels!' All that nonsense. It doesn't mean that he's necessarily good at it but unless Tony is going to cooperate, that's what he's getting.
He stepped back, scrutinizing it, "How's it look?"
And Tony thought he wasn't being nice.

Date: 2016-02-29 08:21 pm (UTC)Luckily, Tony had a very strong fight or flight response and if he couldn't flee he was going to go down fighting. It didn't quite occur to him that Steve wanted him to do just that.
"Do you want my honest opinion? Sentinels should not build nests. They should find a willing Guide they they didn't hunt down to build it for them--"
He would have said more but the sheer amount of lubrication being placed around the nesting area was giving him heart palpitations.
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 08:36 pm (UTC)He sighed, was Tony still going on about this? Steve stopped just short of rolling his eyes at the man. Nothing he was going to say would changed the Sentinels mind. It was made up. He wanted Tony and he wouldn't accept any substitutes.
At this rate, the man would be lucky to get lubrication. He was making Steve impatient and well, that didn't bode well for him. He shifted the water and snacks to the side table within reach too. He stood back and surveyed again, then decided he was satisfied.
He moved back to Tony and eyed what he was wearing. As far as Steve was concerned, the man really didn't need to wear clothes but he definitely wouldn't need them for this. Pants first.
"If you cooperate, these will stay in one piece," he told him. Otherwise he was shredding them.

Date: 2016-02-29 08:45 pm (UTC)He didn't even like this suit. It was just hot and muggy in Rio and he wanted to look good like the vain peacock he was.
"If you cooperate, I won't have to bite you!" Tony challenged, making sure he didn't look at the nest. It was making his stomach turn. Then again, he should probably try to vomit a little. The Sentinel wouldn't want to scent him if he was sticky and smiled like regurgitated scotch right?

Date: 2016-02-29 09:00 pm (UTC)If he was going to be so kind as to put his feet up, well Steve was going to grab the multi-tool and he flipped out the knife attachment. He grabbed one leg and sliced up one leg as far as he could in one quick motion.
Steve gripped the material and smiled as he yanked on it. Tony said that like he might not enjoy it. "Don't worry, I'll return the favor."

Date: 2016-02-29 09:10 pm (UTC)Tony kicked at Steve unsuccessfully, foot caught in an iron grip.
"I take it back then," he actually whimpered. There was only so much genuine snark in him before the fear set in heavily. His scent had changed, but not for the worse. A Guide in peril was enough to make a Hunting Sentinel salivate.

Date: 2016-02-29 09:18 pm (UTC)Oh, and his fingers might just brush a highly sensitive area, he just can't help himself.
Steve actually raised his head and sniffed, running his tongue across his lips again. "It's a shame you can't smell what I do. Your scent is delicious."

Date: 2016-02-29 09:39 pm (UTC)All he had to do was get through this right? He was a prisoner of war once. He knew the drill. You do what you're told when there's nothing else to do and wait for a chance to escape.
He could break this bond later. He could find a way to do it. He hadn't lived this long without being resilient.
He was holding his breath all the while, pulse racing as Steve breathed him in.

Date: 2016-02-29 10:00 pm (UTC)Once his pants were undone, it didn't take much for Steve to remove the rest of them. He left his underwear for now. "These are a nice color," he said, briefly palming Tony and if the man didn't realize how wide the chair he was sitting in was yet, he would when Steve straddled his hips. They easily fit in the chair like this.
His uniform pants were probably rough. They weren't terribly clean either, considering he just went tromping through a wet, muddy jungle for the Guide he was sitting on, but Steve didn't seem to mind. His attention was on slowly unbuttoning the suit jacket and then the shirt beneath it.
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 10:09 pm (UTC)He thought about equations. He thought about how to plate the armor in something more stable than tri-titanium and gold. He thought about sending Banner a postcard and about Pepper Potts wondering where he was. He thought about JARVIS.
His mind was too full to notice Steve undressing him. Oh. If only that was true. He flinched as his shirt was undone and the arc reactor shone a brilliant blue in the muted light between them.
"Personal self destruct button," Tony told Steve, head still hanging. "Give it a yank."
no subject
Date: 2016-02-29 10:17 pm (UTC)The jacket got the same knife treatment as the pants. Sure, he could rip it apart, but why expend the effort? The scraps were discarded on the floor with the man's pants. The button up shirt followed, leaving Tony's beautifully undressed except for his red and gold underwear.
He hummed in approval and started dragging his hands over every inch of skin he could reach. Tony's arms, shoulders, chest, back. It seemed reverent almost though Steve was really considering where he could hurt the man the most. Where bruises would look the prettiest.
Finally, he gripped Tony's jaw, hard in one hand and kissed him. No tongue, nowhere near his teeth, but it was just a test to see how the night might go.
